75 years Akademische Druck- u. Verlagsanstalt (ADEVA) Graz

During the last 75 years the Akademische Druck- u. Verlagsanstalt (ADEVA) Graz has developed to the worldwide leader in the production of perfect facsimile editions. As the world's largest facsimile publisher, ADEVA sets the standard for facsimile edition true-to-original reproductions of ancient and medieval manuscripts. Alone the series CODICES SELECTI, worldwide the largest facsimile series, encompasses 125 works, with another 50 editions existing in print outside of the series.

ADEVA’s catalogue contains pre-Columbian Mexican codices as well as Mogul manuscripts, masterworks of Arab calligraphy, Byzantine purple codices and scrolls, manuscripts of Jewish origin and hand-written testimonies to our western cultural heritage. Also available are facsimile leaves of the great modern artist, like Paul Klee, Oskar Kokoschka or Gustav Klimt, whose originals can be found today in private collections.

The universal library of all culture from Graz makes it possible to access the Golden Psalter of Charles I, the Rose Novel for Francois I, the Ingeborg-Psalter from Chantilly, the Ramsey-Psalter, the Vergilius Vaticanus, the Papyrus Ani of Old Egypt or the Wenzels Bible, without having to travel great distances to large libraries of the world. So it is that an Austrian publishing company remains today the worldwide producer in the manufacture of perfect facsimile editions.

The Akademische Druck- u. Verlagsanstalt (Academic Printing and Publishing House) Graz besides its regular program, also carries abundant titles covering the themes of history, art- and cultural history. This spectrum ranges from beautifully illustrated books, art books, lexical series and numerous publications about music and film, through to reprints of large library works.
